Border Base Metals Project (SA)
EL 4270, 4352, 3745, ELA 153/2011, 301/2011 Sumitomo 59.1%, Minotaur 40.9%
The Border project on the Curnamona Craton is a joint venture between Minotaur Exploration and Sumitomo Metal Mining Oceania Pty Ltd, encompassing 4 tenements along the state border with New South Wales. Exploration is for Cu-Au and for Broken Hill type Pb-Zn-Ag mineralisation.
Past exploration activities have included a large airborne electromagnetic survey (2009) along with follow-up ground electromagnetic surveys and two drill programs. Mineralisation intersected so far has not been economic, and new target generation is in progress. Magnetite-rich strata encountered at the Record Prospect contain elevated Rare Earth Elements (REE) and further investigation is warranted to evaluate their affinity with IOCG-style mineralisation.

Minotaur Exploration also has a Joint Venture with BHP Billiton on the adjoining Bonython Hill tenement (EL4745) where exploration for Broken Hill type Pb-Zn-Ag and Mutooroo type Cu-Co mineralisation is ongoing.
